Wow, what a difference 24 hours makes!

24 hours ago I found myself in the middle of a top to bottom redesign of www.christophergodsoe.com, and now it is starting to round into form.

I learned more about editing .xml than I ever thought I would, but hey, idle hands are the devils playground, right? So a fresh coat of paint, a much more efficient layout, and now I feel like I can get back to writing again.

The old design was one that I never felt satisfied with, and when I finally decided to take Chuck Wendig's advice and "own" my online identity, making the jump and procuring the christophergodsoe.com domain name, it only reinforced the fact that I needed to move on up like George and Weezy.

So what you see before you is the fruit of 3-4 hours worth of graphics and coding work. In all honesty, I didn't start from scratch, I found a template online that best matched the direction I was planning to go and started customizing.

Yes, that is the reason why the images in the sliding picture show look like they were cobbled together in ten minutes each-they were. I just decided that I had to have SOMETHING of my own to replace the template images.

So, not that I am freed from the shackles of substandard web design, I will be spending the rest of the next two weeks finishing up the mindMap of pre://d.o.mai.n.

I'm thinking of writing up a blog post outlining (pun intended) my experience with using the free and open source "MindMap" software to keep my story straight. If this all sounds incredibly interesting and you either don't want to wait for my expose' or want a primer before you read it can find a download link for the program under the heading of "FREE SOFTWARE" in this pages header. (The page I am referring to is christophergodsoe.com, I keep forgetting that my blog has been syndicated and appears on several other sites automatically. So if you don't see the heading on your page, click here.

I am hard at work on several fronts, including creating a two book trailers (a teaser and one that contains the entire first part of the audiobook) for Judgment Cove. Revising the Book trailer for Where I Can't Follow (No, I can't understand the old man's dialog in it either), finishing the third chapter of D4RK R3QU13M, and recording all four existing chapters into free downloadable podcasts to be hosted at www.podiobooks.com.

So, needless to say, I have quite a bit to keep me busy and very soon I will have quite a bit to share.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot about the online store too, but that now needs a fresh coat of paint to avoid clashing with the new decor here.

So once again thanks for checking out the new and improved christophergodsoe.com, and I hope you continue to check back to see what I have coming up, it's going to be alot of fun :-)

  1. Thanks Erin! I've got a few more things planned, but I think I should get back to actually writing before I spend too much time on them.
